Pet owners and parents in Chicago’s Rogers Park are being warned about “misused rat poison” that could pose a health risk.

According to the warning published in 49 AD^This WardAld. According to Maria Hadden’s news release, an investigation is ongoing into who placed the rat poison packets in various locations in the ward, including Farwell and Sheridan, as well as the intersection of Ashland and Fargo.

Hadden said neither the city nor at least one nearby restaurant were responsible for the packages.

The councilman is warning voters to watch out for “green, granular packets” of poisons or similar packaging and keep them away from children and pets.

According to officials, there have been no reported cases of pets or children ingesting the poison.
