120 kilos of cocaine were found in the truck

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office says a tip led deputies to arrest a semi truck carrying more than 120 pounds of cocaine along I-94.

The sheriff’s office said they received a tip about the drugs Monday and stopped the semi-truck on eastbound I-94 near mile marker 35 northeast of Benton Harbor shortly before 8 p.m.

Approximately 50 kilograms (about 123 pounds) of cocaine were seized during a search of the truck and trailer, deputies said. Authorities say the street value of the drugs is approximately $1.5 million.
