HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Malia Lajala was initially arrested for attempted murder after allegedly shooting at her ex-boyfriend in Moiliili.

On the evening of November 17, around 22:00, a 40-year-old man was missed by gunshots on University Boulevard; He escaped unhurt.

On Tuesday, police charged Lajala with use of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

The 36-year-old man was released from custody after a bonding company posted $20,000 bail.

Lajala is the same woman convicted of helping alleged cop killer Justin Waiki evade arrest on the Big Island. 2018.

Court records show he was released on parole last year.

Lajala is expected to appear in court again on November 21.
