SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted a drug bust last week.

On November 12, deputies from the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted a traffic stop after identifying a suspect as the target of drug trafficking.

During the traffic stop, deputies along with a K9 unit discovered more than two pounds of methamphetamine and a firearm. Police also found currency directly linked to drug dealing.

The drugs never reached the streets, thanks to deputies and K9 Aki, who made the seizure, the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force said in a Facebook post.
