AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Two men pleaded guilty and were sentenced to prison for a crime. Shooting attack that killed a woman in 2022.

Two women were shot on September 23, 2022, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Matthew Brewer, 20, and Adrian Ulloa, 21, were quickly identified as the suspects by the Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit.

The case was presented to the Potter County Grand Jury on November 16, 2022, and both men were indicted on capital murder charges.

On November 12, 2024, Ulloa accepted a life sentence.

On November 13, 2024, Brewer accepted a 22-year prison sentence for his role in the death.

During the investigation, APD Homicide detectives discovered that Ulloa and Brewer shot two women during a robbery, killing 29-year-old Karlee Messer and seriously wounding the other woman.
