RED WING, Minn. (KTTC) – Red Wing’s Darryl Dion Nixon Jr. (41) was arrested following an attack around 20.30 on Sunday evening. Hours of conflict with police after a woman was found dead At home in Red Wing.

Red Wing Police (RWPD) responded to Putnam Avenue where Nixon and the decedent were located and negotiated with him for several hours before he left the home and was arrested.

RWPD said it is still investigating the incident but plans to release the autopsy report Tuesday after the family is notified.

Officials say there is no threat to public safety, but people are still encouraged to avoid the area while investigators work.

Nixon is currently charged with second-degree murder and is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
