NORWAY TOWN (WBNG) — Two suspects have been arrested following a burglary in Norwich Township.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of Michael B. VanDerWeert, 38, of Guilford, NY, and Dawn M. Cavanaugh, 47, of North Carolina.

The two face felony theft charges. They also face misdemeanor charges of petty theft, criminal mischief and conspiracy.

On Nov. 12, deputies responded to a theft complaint at a business. The business reported that someone entered the building and stole items.

Deputies were able to gather information about the two suspects and their vehicle.

Then on Nov. 13, deputies found the vehicle at a business in Oxford Village. Two suspects in the vehicle were detained and arrested.

VanDerWeert and Cavanaugh were released with appearance tickets to appear at Norwich Court Town at a later date.
