Colbert County murder suspect charged

COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A man accused in a Colbert County murder case was indicted earlier this month, according to court documents.

DeKoven Williams charged with murder of Nathan LittletonHe was found dead Oct. 6 in a home on Paul E. Johnson Drive in Tuscumbia. Authorities said he was shot multiple times in the back.

Williams claimed self-defense in the case, claiming Littleton tried to rob him and he did what he had to do.

Littleton had been staying with a friend at the home on Paul E. Johnson Drive for several months. Investigators believe Williams hung out there throughout that day.

Investigators said the gun they suspect was used in the attack was found in Williams’ car.

Williams remains in the Colbert County Jail on $350,000 bail. He has a hearing on November 21.
