Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol arrested in US – here’s what happened

According to media reports, Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was recently arrested in California, United States. According to News18, intelligence sources confirmed that a non-bailable warrant was issued for his arrest earlier this month.

This development comes after weeks of legal proceedings initiated by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch, which has initiated the process of seeking Anmol’s extradition.

The gangster’s younger brother is wanted in connection with several high-profile crimes, including his alleged involvement in murder. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddiqui and the shooting incident at actor Salman Khan’s home in Bandra in 2021.

Anmol Bishnoi, a resident of Fazilka in Punjab, has emerged as a key figure in a series of violent incidents. Earlier this year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) offered a reward of ₹10 lakh for any information leading to his arrest. He is facing charges in two cases filed by the NIA, besides 18 other criminal cases.

High-profile crimes involving Anmol Bishnoi

Anmol Bishnoi has been linked to some of the most notorious crimes in recent history. These include the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, the shooting outside Salman Khan’s house and his involvement in the murder of Baba Siddique.

NIA charges Anmol in connection with this Murder of Sidhu Moose WalaHe claimed to have provided weapons and logistical support to those responsible for the shooting in Punjab.

In a Facebook post, Anmol claimed responsibility for the shooting outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra on April 14. Mumbai Police later arrested two men who were involved in the attack, allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and in touch with Anmol.

Anmol Bishnoi is believed to have traveled to Canada using a fake passport after fleeing India in 2023. Authorities were unable to track his whereabouts until his recent arrest in the United States.

Anmol Bishnoi’s role in Baba Siddique’s murder

Anmol Bishnoi’s name has also surfaced in the investigation into the murder of Baba Siddique, a senior NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister, who was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra East area on October 12. According to Mumbai Police, three suspected hitmen were involved. The crime was in contact with Anmol.

During interrogation, two of the accused, Ramphool Kanjoia and Nitin Sapre, allegedly revealed that Anmol had coordinated the attack on Siddique. They also stated that Anmol provided photographs of Baba Siddique and son Zeeshan to the hitmen.

Another accused, Shiv Kumar Gautam, claimed that he was in touch with Anmol’s wanted associate Shubham Lonkar. Shubham Lonkar, under Anmol’s direction, had given himself the task of spreading fear in Mumbai.
