Scattered showers for Sunday as the sun turns to Monday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The clouds remain in place for now, with some occasional sunshine, but our trajectory will turn more spring-like as we head into next week. As we see some moisture forming around, there is a possibility that fog will remain in place during the morning hours, limiting visibility.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Sunday will see a mix of sun and clouds at times as we await the arrival of the second front to clear things up. A stray shower with the best chance heading into the mountains is out of the question. Highs will remain near average as we return to the upper 60s with a light breeze.

The weather will be humid enough with the remaining moisture on Monday morning that we will see the return of limited visibility with areas of dense fog. Be sure to slow down on your commute to work and school as our temperatures remain in the upper 40s and near 50s.

LOOK AHEAD

Sunshine will remain in place for most of next week as temperatures will gradually warm each afternoon. Highs return to the mid-70s before we look ahead to our next front for the weekend. Timing is still something we need to monitor, but the best chance for some showers is from now Thursday night through Friday morning.

We will be keeping a close eye on the system as it gets closer and as always we have the latest information in your WVLT First Alert 8 Day Planner.
