MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) – One person was killed and five people were hospitalized in a crash in Maumee on Saturday.

Maumee Police say the incident occurred just before 2 p.m. on Nov. 16 on Russel Road between Fallen Timbers and Stitt. In the statement made by the ministry, it was stated that a vehicle crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on. It is not yet known what caused the driver to cross into the opposite lane.

Authorities have not yet released the names or ages of those involved but said the deceased was an adult. Two children and three adults were taken to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
