Jackson Co. accused of murder for shooting his disputing neighbor. Bond was prepared for the man

JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Bail has been set for a Jackson County man accused of murder after he reportedly shot his neighbor over a dispute, according to documents.

On November 14, court documents show Daniel Lambert appeared in court for an Aniah Law hearing.

At the hearing, Lambert was given a $200,000 bond. Other conditions of bail include that he cannot leave the state, cannot possess a firearm or be in the presence of anyone who does so, and be kept under house arrest without an electronic bracelet.

If Lambert violates any of his bail conditions, a warrant may be issued for his arrest, the court document said.

On November 16, documents show, the court decided to continue the preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for November 27.

on Nov. 5, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.Around 3:09 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a private vehicle off County Road 12 in the Hollytree area.

When deputies arrived, they found 47-year-old Douglas Cooner dead at the scene.

CSO tells News 19 that 57-year-old Daniel Lambert of Hollytree was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Cooner.

Deputies added that a dispute between Lambert and Cooner led to the shooting.
