Driver, 34, arrested in connection with road traffic offenses after Glasgow police chase

A driver has been arrested after leading police on in Glasgow in the early hours of the morning.

Police Scotland said the car failed to stop when signaled on Saracen Street in the Possilpark area at around 8.40am on Sunday and was followed to Newton Street.

The vehicle was stopped and a 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences.

It is reported that no one was injured.

Due to the incident, the road was closed to traffic for an hour at its junction with Bath Street.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 8.40am on Sunday 17 November 2024, a car on Saracen Street, Glasgow, failed to stop for officers when signaled.

“Following a chase the car was stopped on Newton Street in Glasgow.

“No injuries were reported.

“A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offenses and investigations are ongoing.”
