WEST COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – Fire crews were working to extinguish flames at Maurice’s Piggy Park BBQ in West Columbia Saturday night.

The distribution center in the area where the famous barbecue restaurant on Charleston Highway is located was engulfed in flames around 10 pm on Saturday evening.

The fire was upgraded to a third alarm fire and additional units were called, officials said. At around 22.45, the fire was not yet under control.

Fire departments from West Columbia, Cayce, Lexington, Columbia-Richland and Irmo were working to extinguish the blaze, according to officials.

A spokesperson for the West Columbia Fire Department said they do not believe anyone was injured in the fire.
