Murder investigated after roommates argue

LANSING, MICH. (WLNS) — Michigan State Police are investigating a homicide after responding to a call about an argument between two roommates around 1 a.m. Friday morning in the 6000 block of Sargent Rd. in Handy Township.

Police said the caller went downstairs to check on the two and found one of their roommates, a 57-year-old, injured and lying on the floor, while the suspect was a 35-year-old from Howell. , ran away from home. The 57-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

K9 troopers and deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department tried to find him.

A resident of the 5700 block of Millett Road called 911 around 2:25 a.m. to report someone banging on the door. Learning that he was the person they were looking for, the teams came to the scene and detained the person.

MSP does not disclose the cause of death or what weapons were used, but says there is no threat to the public.
