Friends of 16-year-old boy killed in police shooting on Fort Wayne’s south side over the weekend speak out

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Friends are talking about the police shooting that claimed the life of a loved one on Fort Wayne’s south side last weekend.

BACKGROUND: FWPD investigates after officer shooting and fatal shooting suspect on city’s south side

16-year-old Ah Mee Kun lost his life in a gun attack on the night of November 10.

Kun’s friend Özme Wyn was also at the scene when Kun was shot.

He said they were listening to music in the car when the police arrived and started questioning the driver, then the officer moved on to Kun.

Another friend, Fare Dal, said the FWPD detective working the case said he would call them Tuesday with more information.

Dal says that call never came.

“We’re trying to contact the detective about the statement and stuff, you know? It’s like we want to know what happened on their side but they still haven’t contacted them, it’s been like 4-5 days, man, we’re trying to contact or something,” Dal says.

Lin Aung, one of Kun’s friends, said police should have released body camera footage of what happened that night.
