Wisconsin vs. No. 1 Oregon

Oregon and Wisconsin have a history of meeting each other for big matchups, except they usually come at the Rose Bowl.

This time, the two proud programs will face off as conference rivals for the first time. They enter this game with two different perspectives on the rest of the season. Oregon is looking to get the top overall seed in the College Football Playoff, while Wisconsin is struggling to reach the bowl game. This is a crucial streak for the Badgers’ survival. They posted winning records and went to a bowl game for 22 consecutive seasons. This is the longest active season hitting streak of any Power Four program.

The Ducks are in the midst of one of the best seasons in program history. They’re pretty much a lock for the playoffs at this point and are waiting on the winner of Ohio State vs. Indiana to see who they’ll play in Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship. However, all of these plans could quickly go awry if the Ducks lose on the road against the Badgers in what promises to be a hostile environment at Camp Randall Stadium. It is not an easy task to win in that building at night as the guest team.

This play is also a quarterback mismatch. Dillon Gabriel is the leading scorer in NCAA history with 180 goals. He broke the record last week by scoring three goals against Maryland. He is a Heisman contender and one of the best quarterbacks in the country.

On the other hand, Braedyn Locke put up a great fight. He has thrown just one touchdown pass and three interceptions in the last two games. He has thrown eight touchdown passes and eight interceptions since taking over the starting job at the start of the season. He’ll need to have the best game of his career for the Badgers to have a chance on Saturday night.

Oregon hasn’t gone 11-0 since 2010, when the Ducks started 12-0 before losing to Cam Newton and Auburn in the national championship. The Ducks are trying to win their first national championship in program history and Wisconsin is trying to keep their season winning streak alive. Even though their goals are very different, there is something that both teams are playing for.
