Born into a wealthy Connecticut family with a silver spoon in his mouth, Henry McGowan seemingly had it all until earlier this week.

Henry’s father, John McGowan, who is accused of murder at a luxury hotel in Ireland, had a decades-long career as a successful financier.

This saw Henry grow up in tony Greenwich, Connecticut, where his family attended the $74,000-a-year Deerfield Academy.

His family later moved to a stunning $1.9 million colonial-style home in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Meanwhile, Henry was living in a stylish pre-war $5,100-a-month apartment in trendy Brooklyn.

But the successful and respected family found itself in the middle of a horrific crime on Tuesday when Henry allegedly murdered his father at the Ballyfin Demense hotel in Laois, Ireland.

The five-star hotel, previously known for hosting Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on their honeymoon, charges around $1,000 per room per night.

Glossy photographs on the website show the bloodbath unfolding in the kind of opulent setting to which both Henry and John McGowan were accustomed.

John McGowan, 66, was the lead partner of a brokerage firm that specialized in trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

McGowan had graduated from the University of Virginia and was working at cutting-edge software company Affirm.

He currently lives in a pre-war apartment in the trendy Brooklyn neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights. His apartment was last sold for $1.2 million.

The area is known for its sandstone mansions and tree-lined promenade that leads to the East River.

In his spare time, he was known to attend private parties in the Hamptons during the summer months, popular with New York’s elite.

Attending a stunning Ballroom Marfa party last summer, McGowan was spotted rubbing shoulders with award-winning architect Ted Flato and his family.

While she doesn’t spend her time in the Hamptons or far from her home in Brooklyn, her social media shows she frequently travels to Texas, Miami, San Francisco, and Colorado.

McGowan was reportedly traveling around Europe before heading to Ireland. A photo obtained by DailyMail.com shows him relaxing at a very swanky-looking ski resort.

After traveling to Ireland earlier this week, he checked into Ballyfin Demense, a luxury resort in County Laois known for its celebrity connections.

After she flew from New York to Ireland on Monday evening, her father joined her at the private hotel after concerned staff reported she was behaving erratically.

His father had left his $1.9 million home in Canaan, Connecticut, to fly across the Atlantic to help his son, who suffered from bipolar disorder.

On Tuesday, McGowan was found unresponsive in the hotel entertainment area and was later pronounced dead.

McGowan was found unresponsive in the hotel entertainment area, where he was seen and later pronounced dead.

Irish police launched an investigation, saying the death was caused by a ‘deadly attack’, but did not provide further details on how he was killed.

McGowan was charged with murder and did not respond to the charge when warned by officers.

Following a brief court hearing on Thursday, he was remanded in custody at Cloverhill Prison and his case was adjourned until November 18.

McGowan’s lawyer, Barry Fitzgerald, said she suffers from serious mental health problems.

The judge presiding over the case allowed McGowan to seek emergency medical attention for her mental health.

At a previous marathon fundraiser, Henry said he had a ‘manic episode’ in January 2022 and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

His father had left his $1.9 million home in Canaan, Connecticut, and crossed the Atlantic to help his son.

‘It’s been a tough road, but now that I’m on the other side of it, I’m deeply grateful and can’t believe how much my life has improved in this relatively short time.

‘There can be no greater lesson from this experience than the importance of community.

‘My family, friends, therapists/psychiatrists and employer were an incredible force that put a huge landing pad under me (from NYC to Paris); ‘This might well have saved my life.’
