SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) – The Town of Summerville has announced the death of former mayor Wiley Johnson.

Johnson served as mayor from 2016 to 2019. The town says he died Thursday.

At Thursday night’s council meeting, current Summerville Mayor Russ Touchberry and the City Council honored Johnson with a moment of silence.

In memory of his many contributions to society, flags will be flown at half-mast on all city buildings until the end of the funeral service.
