Wrexham: Phil Parkinson confirms extent of Steven Fletcher’s knee injury

Despite the problems Boyle and Bolton have resolved after being injured at Port Vale in midweek, Parkinson said he did not expect to find more defensive options in the January transfer window.

“I think with those two injuries (Boyle and Bolton) they will be back by January so we won’t need to go into that part in the transfer window,” he added.

Wrexham sit third in League One, four points behind leaders Wycombe Wanderers, as they prepare to face sixth-placed Stockport.

Dave Challinor’s side sit just three places and four points behind Wrexham, with the pair occupying the third tier after gaining promotion from League Two last season.

“We’ve had some good fights against them in the last few years,” Parkinson added.

“It’s another full season, we’ve been to some great stadiums so far this season – Charlton 24,000, Birmingham almost at capacity, Bolton the same.

“This is another day when we will be filled with a wonderful atmosphere.

“We have to look to enjoy this again because we have worked hard to achieve this type of games at this level.”
