Attendance reached 15 million for only the fourth time in 36 World Series games since 2018. The last game before Friday was the seventh and decisive game of the 2019 series, which averaged 23 million viewers for Washington’s 6-2 victory over Houston to claim its first title.

“The ratings were really good last night,” Commissioner Rob Manfred said before Saturday’s Game 2. “I see this matchup as an opportunity to further develop everything we have been working on over the last few years.
