Edmonton Lubricants Star scored his 1,000th career point on Thursday night, becoming the fourth-fastest NHL player to reach that milestone.

The 2015 No. 1 overall pick did that in 659 games. Wayne Gretzky got it in 424 games, Mario Lemieux needed 516 and Mike Bossy needed 656. Peter Stastny finished fifth with 682. These four players are in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

McDavid, 27, also became the fourth-youngest NHL player to reach 1,000 points, achieved by 98 other players.

He hit the milestone with a goal in Thursday’s home game against the Nashville Predators. He has 341 goals and 659 assists.
