Wellington rider suffers brain injury after fall

A Wellington rider is recovering in hospital after suffering a traumatic brain injury during training last Wednesday.

Family members are searching for answers after 55-year-old Gregory Prince Jr. unexpectedly fell from his horse.

His partner, Kyla Makhloghi, said Prince is currently in St. He said he was struggling with a brain hemorrhage at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Makhloghi says he noticed the Prince’s assistant running into the stable with sand on the side of his horse. The assistant later found Prince on the ground and he was later flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach.

“There’s not a single person who knew him, met him and didn’t think about him,” Kyla Makhloghi said.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would be at this point,” Makhloghi said. “It’s very difficult to say the least.”

Loved ones say the support has been overwhelming as they wait for Prince to regain consciousness.

“There is not a single person who knew him, met him and did not think about him,” Makhloghi said. “This became very clear and critical in his time.”

Family members say Prince was a professional trainer and grew up riding horses.
