American director, screenwriter and producer Todd Haynes Elected as president of the international jury of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. Berlinale The diamond jubilee (75th anniversary) will take place between February 13-23, 2025.

”Todd Haynes is a dazzlingly talented writer and director with an impressive range; His works are both stylistically versatile and unmistakably his own, Berlinale Director Tricia Tuttle said Thursday. “Since his debut feature ‘Poison’ won the Teddy Award in 1991, the Berlinale has followed and loved his filmmaking; “We are delighted to have him join the festival as the International Jury President for our 75th year.”

The Teddy Award is the festival’s gay film award. “Poison” also won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Haynes’ 2002 film “Far From Heaven” was nominated for four Oscars.

His Other important works “Safe” (1995), “Velvet Goldmine” (1998), fictional Bob Dylan biography “I’m Not There” (2007), which won the Grand Jury Prize in Venice, mini-series “Mildred Pierce” ( 2011), “Carol” (2015), “Wonderstruck” (2017), “Dark Waters” (2019), “Velvet Underground” (2021) and “May December” (2023).

The Berlinale announcement called Haynes “one of the most daring and diverse filmmakers in US-American cinema, beloved for her great sensitivity to exploring the inner lives of strangers and women and her fascinating investigations of gender and identity.”

Haynes recently made headlines for a movie. not do – at least not anymore (at least for now). Haynes was ready to do it a strange love movie Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Danny Ramirez.
