90s rock star says he punched rival band’s singer: ‘He was attacking me’

Alien Ant Farm’s Dryden Mitchell announced on social media that CKY would no longer be touring with the band due to Chad I Ginsburg punching Mitchell.

Ginsburg said it was self-defense.

In a series of Instagram stories, per billboardGinsburg told fans: “There’s nothing wrong with defending yourself against a bad man. If you are attacked or feel truly threatened, do not be afraid and stop the threat as best you can.

“I had to protect myself. This was a split second reaction to a very angry man muttering and then yelling #*%! He was running towards me from 10 feet away, into my personal space! He was coming at me. He was attacking me! I felt a physical threat and if I hadn’t tried to avoid the attack I would have been attacked .(f-word) sake.”

Before starting the tour on November 9, Mitchell announced CKY’s removal from the tour and accused Ginsburg of treating her crew members and band members “like trash.”

“CKY’s Chad hasn’t figured out how to live with others after all these years,” he shared on social media, per billboard.

“After Chad punched me in the face today they will no longer be able to join the Alien Ant Farm Tour at other shows in the UK. I’ve seen him treat multiple crew members and opening band members like trash at European shows and cause general drama in our camp.

He further explained: “We still had business matters to deal with today and so I verbally explained to his manager what a big problem Chad was, as well as other people making messes with him getting on the bus every day to clear… He punched me in the face and He pretty much ran away as I predicted he would for all his future problems.

“I would love to see these shows continue and I apologize to all CKY fans for Chad’s behavior. We have no hard feelings towards Jess and Elvis at CKY and are heartbroken to see them go, but I would never knowingly put myself in volatile situations so this had to end.
