Johor cops have arrested two men who fatally stabbed a stranger on the Taman Sri Tebrau footbridge; detained for seven days

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — Two men have been detained in connection with the fatal stabbing of a foreigner whose body was found with three stab wounds on the steps of a footbridge in Johor’s Taman Sri Tebrau last month.

Johor Baru (South) police chief Deputy Commissioner Raub Selamat confirmed that the suspects, aged 44 and 62, were arrested in Taman Maju Jaya on Sunday. New Straits Times Today.

Both men tested positive for methamphetamine and have past criminal records.

They are currently being held for seven days to assist with the murder investigation.

In a statement today, Raub said police seized clothing and other items related to the case.

On October 19, police were notified that an unconscious man was found bleeding heavily and lying motionless on the steps of the footbridge.

The victim, a 35-year-old foreigner, was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of three stab wounds to the chest.

Raub said the motive behind the murder was yet to be determined and asked anyone with information to contact Johor Baru South police station at 07-2182323.
