Downtown Orlando tech hub brings opportunities for ‘innovation and entrepreneurship’

A new chapter begins in Central Florida’s tech scene with the grand opening of a tech hub in downtown Orlando.

With the ceremonial ribbon cutting, the center led by the UCF Business Incubation Program, Innovate Orlando and OMG Labs officially opened its doors. Located in the heart of the city, the center aims to provide vital resources to technology companies and stimulate growth and innovation in the region.

Rob Panepinto, Director of Innovation Zones Strategy, underlined the need for a dedicated technology center and said, “There was no place for innovation and entrepreneurship to develop and grow.”

The center will support initiatives in areas such as artificial intelligence, 3D simulation and virtual reality, and provide high-tech resources and networking opportunities to bridge the gap between creativity and commercialization.

“We now want to open the doors to the community, so if you are an entrepreneur looking to grow your business, this is the place for you,” Panepinto added. “And if you are a nonprofit, this is a place where you can take advantage of our office space.”

Orlando city leaders joined UCF representatives at the opening to express optimism about potential growth and collaboration opportunities. “Orlando is thriving in technology,” Shan Rose said. “This is our way of supporting innovation and creating a place where dreams can become reality.”

With a mission to foster big ideas and build the next wave of tech giants, Tech Hub Orlando is ready to fuel innovation in the heart of downtown.
