Due to its setting, Die Hard It’s as full of Christmas music and decorations as it is of bullets. Ultimately, the result is a delightfully flashy action movie that was a late eighties blockbuster. It’s packed with great action, iconic set pieces, vintage fashion and firearms, and a pretty wholesome theme in which main character John McClane tries to reconnect with his family over the holidays.

Will Ferrell is delightfully quirky as a naive man raised as an Elf when the Arctic’s best find him as a baby. When she tries to reconnect with her father, things don’t go as planned because the man is a corporate team member who doesn’t care about the Christmas spirit. However, thanks to his absurd silliness and dedication to his art, Buddy the Elf helps him find the true Christmas spirit in a heartwarming finale.

When it comes to animated Christmas classics, Rudolph is still on top. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer A delightfully animated stop motion special with absolutely iconic and adorable character designs. It’s truly impressive how many iconic sights and sounds of the holiday season can be captured in less than an hour of this 1964 classic.

Actually Love It couldn’t be more fitting, it has been described as the ultimate romantic comedy. Set around Christmas, the film follows a cast of intriguing characters who share glimpses of their love lives during the holiday season.

The film plays out like a series of vignettes about romance during the holidays, ranging from delightful to devastating. It all comes wrapped together with a bow at the top, although the setup makes it feel quite fragmented. With this, Actually Love It’s worth a watch just for the incredible cast of Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Keira Knightley, Alan Rickman and more. The Walking Dead Andrew Lincoln just to name a few.

Holiday National Lampoon’s film series is an ’80s comedy classic and Christmas Holiday is by far their best. This hilarious holiday game is filled with crude humor as the Griswald family try their best to prepare a magical Christmas for their extended family, even if it makes them angry.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is filled with iconic one-liners, hilarious visual gags, and iconic comedians like Chevy Chase and Julia Louis Dreyfus at their best. The film climaxes with Randy Quaid appearing as Cousin Eddie with a family that doesn’t know when to leave.

It’s a Wonderful Life is both a delightfully nostalgic game from the 1940s and a timeless classic. The story tells the story of a guardian angel who has knowledge of the life of the man whose life he will save; George Bailey. James Stewart is absolutely iconic as this leading man, and his charm makes the feature-length comeback compelling to watch. Almost functioning as an extended coming-of-age montage, the film focuses on that magical point in young adulthood when you meet the love of your life and begin to start your own family.

However, the film also goes to some dark and mature places. The holidays aren’t so magical for George Bailey, as his financial problems begin to overwhelm him so much that he contemplates suicide. Fortunately, the community around him ultimately cares about the man who has done so much for them. All this being said, if you need a good laugh, a good cry, and an incredible reminder that people are fundamentally good and kindness is rewarded, IIt’s a Wonderful Life A must watch as the best Christmas movie of all time.
