Jharkhand Election Phase 1 Live: Focus on youth, women and tribals in JMM’s ‘Adhikar Patra’

JMM patriarch Shibu Soren, who was earlier out of the election campaign, made a prominent appearance to release the party’s manifesto Adhikar Patra with the slogan “Ek Hi Naara, Hemant Dobara” (One slogan, again Hemant). While the party had earlier released a joint manifesto with the Congress and RJD, Adhikar Patra presents JMM’s different stance on various key issues, including employment, social security, women’s rights and major schemes.

The manifesto reiterated the party’s resolve to increase the reservation rate for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in government jobs from 14% to 27%. He also promised 28% reservation for Scheduled Tribes (STs) and 12% reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs). Additionally, JMM promised to provide 33% reservation for women in government positions.

On economic issues, the manifesto proposed reducing LPG cylinder prices to Rs 450 and promised to increase monthly financial assistance to eligible women under Maiya Samman Yojana to Rs 2,500.

Focusing on employment, JMM has released a department-wise plan to create two lakh jobs for youth. The party also vowed to cancel the previous government’s land bank plan and instead give land titles to the landless. Additionally, the manifesto suggested issuing caste and domicile certificates to people without land registration within six months of assuming office.
