This is CHiPs star Larry Wilcox!

The 77-year-old American actor was recently spotted driving his Dodge Ram truck around Los Angeles before heading to the mechanic.

He is best known for portraying straight-laced California Highway Patrol officer Jonathan Andrew Baker, alongside Erik Estrada, who plays his macho, freewheeling partner, Officer Francis Llewellyn ‘Ponch’ Poncherello.

Ponch was the more trouble-prone of the two, as Wilcox’s character was the more level-headed and tried to keep them out of trouble from their superior, Sergeant Joseph Getraer (played by Robert Pine).

After CHiPs, Wilcox starred in 1985’s made-for-TV movie II. He went on to a solid acting career, starring as Tommy Wells in the World War II epic The Dirty Dozen: Next Mission.

More recently, he guest-starred in 2021’s Forgiven This Gun4hire, 2020’s Bromance, and starred in the 2019 film Wish Man.

After leaving CHiPs in 1982, Wilcox demonstrated his ability to be a forward thinker by founding his own production company, Wilcox Productions, which produced the award-winning TV series The Ray Bradbury Theater for HBO for five years.

The actor wore a variety of hats as he was a Vietnam veteran who enlisted in the Marine Corps in May 1967 and served during the Tet Offensive.

They were eventually caught in an FBI undercover operation while offering to recoup commissions to pension fund managers or stockbrokers for using client funds to buy penny stocks.

In November 2010, Wilcox pleaded guilty to securities fraud conspiracy and faced a maximum of five years in prison.
