Kansas State’s Jerome Tang Learned a Lot About the Team After Two Games

The Kansas State Wildcats are down 2-0 after defeating New Orleans (89-65) and Cleveland State (77-64) in the first week of the season.

Coach Jerome Tang spoke to the media ahead of his team’s match against LSU this Thursday at 9 p.m. The Tigers, led by coach Matt McMahon, also lead 2-0.

So what has Tang learned so far?

“Oh man, what a stupid question,” Tang said. “You know, we got some guys that can shoot the ball and even though you know we weren’t playing as well as we wanted to, man. I have a buddy named Tim Maloney and we would go into staff meetings and we’d have all these plans like how we should guard this, how we should do this, what we should do, and he’d stand up at the end of the meeting . I hope we shoot. I hope we shoot and he comes out of the meeting. We have to do other things, but if you shoot, you solve a lot of problems.”

K-State’s field goal percentage is 50.8 percent and 43.4 percent on three-pointers.

To beat LSU, the Wildcats will need to keep up their shooting numbers. Otherwise, coach Tang’s team may suffer its first defeat this season.
