Coroner determines man was shot and killed on I-75 near the Mitchell Boulevard exit

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The man shot and killed while standing outside a disabled vehicle on Interstate 75 was identified Tuesday morning by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

According to the forensic report, the man was identified as 47-year-old Reco Williams.

Williams was killed along with a 42-year-old woman, Cincinnati police wrote in a press release. inspecting a disabled 2012 Chevrolet Malibu He was struck by a vehicle around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on I-75 North near the Mitchell Boulevard exit.

Police say officers were called to the area and discovered a 30-year-old man was driving a 2019 Honda Accord when he lost control and veered off the interstate.

The press release stated that the Honda hit the Malibu and then hit the Williams.

Williams was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment but died from his injuries.

Police said no one else was injured in the crash.

Police stated that the accident was not caused by excessive speed or loss of attention.
