Baltimore police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one person dead and another injured

BALTIMORE, Maryland — One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Northeast Baltimore Saturday evening, according to police.

Around 6:33 p.m., officers from the Northeast Precinct were on patrol in the 5900 block of Belair Road when they heard gunshots nearby in the 4200 block of Powell Boulevard. Police teams arriving at the scene found a 46-year-old man shot in the head. He was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.

A short time later, a second victim, a 24-year-old man, was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds to the back. Investigators determined he was also shot on Powell Boulevard. The young victim is currently in stable condition.
