VIENNA — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Post is investigating a fatal crash in town.

According to a report, a Ford Fusion carrying three people — driver Joshua Johnston, 36, of North Lima, and Miranda Zullo, 35, of Youngstown, and a child — crashed southbound on state Route 82 on Warner Road at 8:13 p.m. Sunday. It was getting closer. release from mail.

The release states that when the Fusion failed to stop at a stop sign as it entered the intersection, an eastbound Subaru Crosstrek driven by Katherine McMullin, 28, of Brookfield struck the car on the passenger side.

The young man who lost his life in the accident died at the scene, while the life-threatening injured were taken to surrounding hospitals. Johnston was taken to St. Louis with non-life-threatening injuries. Elizabeth was transported to Youngstown Hospital and McMullin suffered minor injuries.

Police and fire departments from Brookfield, Liberty and Vienna assisted at the scene.

According to the statement, the passengers of the Ford were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The investigation into the accident continues.

The patrol report states: “Failure to yield at stop signs and traffic lights is a high-risk violation. When you’re at a red light or stop sign, remember to take extra time to look before entering the intersection while keeping your seat belts fastened. “An extra second will save your life.”

PREVIOUS ACCIDENTS

This was the third fatal crash involving passengers who were not wearing seatbelts in less than a month.

Just before 2 a.m. on October 29, a 2006 Nissan traveling down an embankment. Neither passenger was wearing a seat belt and both victims were ejected from the vehicle, the patrol said. The patrol report states that alcohol and speed also contributed to the crash.

While police and rescue personnel were responding to the crash, a 2014 Nissan Altima driven by Karen Bartone, 54, of Niles, crashed southbound, striking and killing Walter.

Ulam was seriously injured in the first accident. Investigations into both accidents are ongoing.

About a week before that, on Oct. 21, a Warren man was killed and a passenger was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Pine Avenue SE in Howland. Michael Campbell, 52, of Warren, died at the scene, and his passenger, Michael Kuhl, 50, of Milton, Florida, was seriously injured in the crash.

Neither man was wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle after the northbound 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road, and struck a guardrail before entering a ditch and woods. The vehicle rolled over several times and came to rest on its roof in the traffic lanes of Pine Boulevard, according to a report filed by the patrol.

Speed, alcohol and drugs are suspected contributing factors to the crash, the patrol said.
