Lacy Lakeview police arrest two men who allegedly tried to steal an ATM from a gas station

LACE LAKEVIEW, Texas (KWTX) Lacy Lakeview police officers arrested two men who tried to steal an ATM machine from a 7-Eleven gas station on Nov. 11, according to a police report.

Tadarius Patton, 24, and Cameron Bryant, 29, were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, theft of property under $300,000, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, criminal mischief by disrupting an ATM and evading charges.

According to the police report, officers received a call around 6 a.m. about an ATM theft in progress at the 7-Eleven gas station located at IH-35 Frontage Rd.

According to the police report, when officers arrived at the scene, they noticed three men trying to drag the store’s ATM through the window using rope.

According to the report, two of the suspects tried to escape by vehicle until they were stopped in the parking lot of the Towneplace Suites hotel, while the other suspect tried to escape on foot.

Police announced that the suspect, who fled on foot, and one of the suspects who tried to escape by car were caught.

The location of the third suspect is not yet known.

“Excellent work by the responding officers in apprehending these individuals,” Lacy Lakeview Police Department wrote. “Further investigation will be initiated to obtain the identities of all parties involved.”

Patton and Bryant are currently being held in the McLennan County Jail. Bond amounts are not yet listed.
