San Antonio Mexican restaurant recognized in Texas Michelin Star Guide

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio restaurant has been named in the first MICHELIN Texas Guide.

The selection guide includes 15 one-MICHELIN Star establishments and two MICHELIN Green Star restaurants. The full selection consists of a total of 117 restaurants covering 26 types of cuisine.

“Our Anonymous Inspectors were impressed by the culinary community in the state of Texas,” said MICHELIN Guides International Director Gwendal Poullennec. “The selection reflects their findings, highlighting unique Texas flavors like BBQ and Tex-Mex, as well as a variety of international influences. We are honored to welcome these restaurants to the MICHELIN Guide family for the first time and toast to the tremendous spirit of the Texas restaurant community!”

San Antonio’s ‘Mixtli’ has a MICHELIN star and serves groundbreaking Mexican cuisine. From the forward-thinking minds of chefs Diego Galicia and Rico Torres, the ever-changing menu focuses on different regions of Mexico and offers unique interpretations of Oaxacan specialties. They also specialize in “Tierra Caliente” cuisine.

Mixtli also received a special Michelin Outstanding Service award, given to Hailey Pruitt and Lauren Beckman.

San Antonio’s ‘Hotel Emma’ located in Pearl was also featured in the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection. The hotel has two MICHELIN Keys.
