Officials in Michigan An investigation is ongoing after human remains were found in a freezer at a home in the city last week.

Just after noon on Thursday, November 7, East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) He was called to the residence due to a suspicious situation.

Police said the person who called 911 reported there was blood on the floor of the residence.

Police teams arrived at the scene and determined that there was dried blood on the ground, but there were no signs of theft.

“Last night we were thinking about how many days we spent sleeping in bed potentially just feet away from a dead body,” Andrew Whitney said in a statement to the press. “It looks like something violent and serious happened.”

Michigan State Police are currently reviewing the evidence.

No arrests were made. Police believe there is no threat to the public.

Whitney added that investigators were at the townhouse overnight Thursday through Friday and the odor was very strong.

“I didn’t smell death, but if I had to guess, it was the smell of death,” Whitney said.

East Lansing Interim Police Chief Chad Pride told WLNS that a delay between the discovery of remains and the commission of the crime would complicate the investigation, but he believes detectives will get to the bottom of the case.

“My hope is that we come up with something quickly that will make the community, the family, the neighbors feel comfortable,” Pride said.

A spokesperson for the company that manages the mansion told WLNS that management is fully cooperating with the investigation but could not comment on the situation. an active investigation.
