Brooklyn father and daughter were found dead with their necks cut. Here are the people the police detained.

NEW YORK — New York police are investigating the gruesome discovery of a woman who found her friends dead, their necks slit, in their Brooklyn home.

On Sunday afternoon, the woman went to visit Jacqueline Delyons, 66, and her father, Roosevelt Simmons, 91, at their home in Cypress Hills.

Police said he found them lying on the kitchen floor with cuts and immediately called 911.

The victim’s boyfriend was arrested

According to police sources, Delyons’ boyfriend was at home when the woman arrived. After seeing the bodies, he asked her what happened, and she allegedly replied, “You know what happened.”

Police detained 46-year-old Lewis Kerry for questioning before arresting him on Monday.

“It’s shocking to me. He doesn’t seem like someone who would do something like that,” said neighbor Hubert Walcott.

“I never heard the guy swear, nothing like that happened. The guy was a good guy, but I don’t know what happened,” said family friend Darryl Moorer.

Police said Kerry was charged with first-degree murder and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The society was saddened by the death of father and daughter

Meanwhile, family and friends grieve the deaths of Delyons and Simmons, whom they called “Bubba.”

“We’re still trying to wrap our heads around all of this right now,” said Ramon Berghout, Delyons’ former partner. “Jackie was my son’s mother… Beautiful person.”

“He’s a very friendly person, Jackie,” Walcott said.

“I’ve lived on the block for over 45 years. Bubba and Jackie are good people,” Moorer said. “Bubba always came to our barbershop and got his hair cut regularly.”

Neighbors said Delyons and Simmons had lived in the neighborhood for decades and had never heard of any concerns about suspicious activity at the home.
