2024 LA Skins Fest has announced this year’s lineup and schedule.

2024 LA View Festival announced its 13-episode program consisting of narrative, documentary and animated films.

Among the screenings of the film is Billy Luther’s short film “Kenji”. The film follows the life and work of Japanese photographer Kenji Kawano, explored throughout his extraordinary fifty-year journey documenting the Navajo Code Talkers of World War II through his lens.

Wes Studi will star in “The Great Cherokee Grandmother.” Anthony Sneed’s film tells the story of a pleasant date between a Cherokee man and a Caucasian woman that turns sour when the woman becomes recklessly obsessed with Cherokee Grandma syndrome, the bane of the Cherokee people’s existence.

“Mary Margaret Road-Grader” is produced by George RR Martin and is based on Howard Waldrop’s 1976 science fiction short story. The film was adapted by screenwriter-director Steven Paul Judd.

The festival will include screenings, a night of traditional performances, an awards ceremony and end-of-sector parties for ticket holders. With more than 80 selections, the 18th annual Native American festival highlights the works of Native filmmakers from around the world. LA Skins Fest is presented by Comcast NBCUniversal and will be held November 19 – 24 at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

The festival opens on November 19 with an industry gathering hosted by Creative Artists Agency (CAA) Native American Media Alliance program members, community leaders and supporters. The festival will host the sixth annual Hollywood Pow Wow at the Hollywood Courtyard on Saturday, November 23, featuring traditional dancing, singing and drumming performances. The festival also hosts after parties for two filmmakers. on Nov. 20 at Sherley’s Brasserie Restaurant in the Roosevelt Hotel, an event honoring participants in the Native American Media Alliance’s year-round development programs. The other follows screenings at Lucky Strike in Hollywood on Saturday night, November 23.

The event will culminate with the 13th Annual Native American Media Awards starting at 7:30 PM PT at Hard Rock Hollywood. Local actors Q’orianka Kilcher from “Yellowstone” and Kiowa Gordon from “Dark Winds” will host the ceremony. It will also feature performances by Emmy-nominated composer Olivia Komahcheet, musician Noah Watts, and young artists from the Confederated Warm Springs Tribes.
