Jahkeem Stewart Visits Inside 5-Star LSU Football Target

New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr five-star linebacker Jahkeem Stewart traveled to Baton Rouge over the weekend to shoot footage of Death Valley for an official visit.

Stewart, America’s No. 3 defensive tackle, is one of the top prospects in the 2025 Recruiting Cycle.

Now, after reclassifying from the class of 2026 to 2025, all eyes are on the Louisiana phenom nicknamed “Thanos” ahead of a decision in December.

Stewart’s finalists are LSU, USC, Oregon and Ohio State, and the five-star is taking official visits to all four before putting pen to paper with one of them during the Early Signing Period in about three weeks.

Following an official trip to Oregon in October, it was LSU’s turn to take advantage of the five-star opportunity for a multi-day stay in Baton Rouge.

Day 1: Check-in and Dinner with Staff

Stewart arrived in Baton Rouge on Friday evening, where he had the opportunity to settle in and check in before dinner with the LSU coaching staff.

He’s hiring quarterback guru Frank Wilson for this game, and defensive line coach Bo Davis is pushing the possibility of “switching the program” full court.

Stewart and his entire family had dinner with the staff, with Wilson sitting next to him, to enjoy the meal, talk shop and relax before the final two days of the trip, sources tell LSU Tigers On SI.

Wilson has proven to be a master of his craft on the recruiting scene. It keeps the state of Louisiana under lock and key with connections to the south.

Now his next target to add to his resume is Stewart.

Wilson rarely swings and misses on top talent in the New Orleans area and wants to keep his track record clean.

Day 2: Red Carpet Show and Game Day in Death Valley

All eyes were on the Southeastern Conference matchup between the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide in Baton Rouge on Saturday night.

For Stewart, she had the chance to tour the LSU campus throughout the day, taking tours and having shop conversations with LSU staff.

From there, there was an escort to Tiger Stadium, where Stewart and his family arrived about 75 minutes before kickoff to join other visitors courtside.

A look at Stewart’s arrival:

He started his high school career at St. Louis in New Orleans. Stewart, who started at St. Augustine High School, was seen wearing a graphic T-shirt with LSU standout Leonard Fournette. Louisiana legend Fournette also played his high school ball in St. He played for the St. Augustine’s Purple Knights.

The two had the opportunity to chat both before and after the LSU-Alabama game on Saturday night.

Stewart and his family attended the Week 11 showdown before returning to the locker room following the game.

Day 3: Coaching Staff Meetings and Photo Shoot

Stewart wrapped up his multi-day stay Sunday evening after sitting down and talking with head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU staff.

It was important for Stewart to continue to build a relationship with Kelly as he approached a monumental decision in the coming weeks.

It’s clear that the NIL package is what Stewart and his team will demand. With Oregon involved, there will be suitors opening their checkbooks, and the LSU staff is aware of what the playing field will be.

Following Stewart and Co.’s meetings with staff along with Frank Wilson, LSU targeted Dakorien Moore, Caden Durham and other staff members.

Moore, the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2025 Recruiting Cycle and current Oregon Ducks commit, traveled to Baton Rouge to see his former high school teammate in Durham. He was in town on an unofficial visit.

Stewart and his team then headed to the LSU Football Operations Building for a photo op, but he wasn’t the only five-star target taking photos.

Bryce Underwood, America’s No. 1 quarterback and LSU commit, was by his side the entire time, along with many other official visitors talking shop, taking photos and more.

Stewart wrapped up her trip to Baton Rouge with Underwood, the five-star couple who took social media by storm after posting photos of them together.

Underwood is clearly the gem of the 2025 Recruiting Class as America’s No. 1 player, but Stewart, the former No. 1 player of the 2026 cycle before reclassifying, remains the top uncommitted target.

Now he’s wrapped up his three-day stay in Baton Rouge with more travel to round out November before a December decision.

Visit Program:

USC Trojans: November 16

Stewart will travel from Oregon to LSU to USC for his first of three official visits this fall. It’s been clear that Lincoln Riley and the Trojans have made Stewart a priority for months, and there are definitely connections working in USC’s favor here.

USC defensive line coach Eric Henderson is a Louisiana native and has several ties to Stewart’s camp, which he will use to his advantage.

He’s worked his magic with Stewart so far after leading USC near the top of the finalists, but the official visit will set the tone.

“It’s got to be tough playing the D-line at USC. It’s got to be a little tough,” USC head coach Lincoln Riley said earlier this year. “Last year wasn’t tough, so we weren’t very good up front. You know, we’re doing pretty good there and it’s tough. The margins are thin.”

Oregon Ducks: November 23

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks had the opportunity to set the tone in Stewart’s hiring after their first official visit on the weekend of Oct. 12.

A source told LSU Tigers On SI that Stewart was in Eugene on an official visit where Lanning and Co. rolled out the red carpet and the Ducks became a serious recruiting contender.

We’ve seen Oregon prove they’re willing to spend dollars on the NIL front, and all odds in the Stewart hire indicate they’ll do the same.

They took the first stab at the five-star linebacker for an official visit last month, and now he’ll return to Eugene for a second trip in a few months.

Ohio State Buckeyes: November 30

Ohio State Buckeyes will have their last chance at the five-star organization, which will be in town for the match against the Michigan Wolverines. It’s the last weekend before the Early Signing Period begins on December 4th.

Stewart, who long coached Ohio State as a sleeper school, spoke highly of the Buckeyes and what they can offer him both on and off the field.

Now the program will take Ryan Day’s final official visit, which could swing for the fences for America’s No. 3 defenseman.

It will be an interesting hire, with LSU, USC, Oregon and Ohio State locking down all officials so far, but the LSU Tigers remain a program that certainly generates significant excitement when crunch time rolls around.
