Alabama NFL recap: A’Shawn Robinson makes game-changing play for Panthers

Carolina Panthers linebacker A’Shawn Robinson had a full stat line against the New York Giants on Sunday. Robinson made seven tackles, recorded a sack, two tackles for loss, recorded two quarterback hits and forced a fumble.

The forced steal helped lead the Panthers to the win at Allianz Stadium in Munich, Germany.

On the first play of overtime, Robinson homered to New York running back Tyrone Tracy. Linebacker Josey Jewell recovered the loose football at the Giants’ 23-yard line, setting up the field goal that gave Carolina a 20-17 victory.

Robinson matched a single-season high with his third sack of 2024, the 10th of his nine-year NFL career.

Robinson was among 36 former Alabama players to take the field on Sunday 10 of the NFL’s 105th season.

Three more former Alabama players were included in the New York-Carolina game:

Evan Neal started at offensive right tackle for the Giants. After starting all 20 games at right tackle in his first two NFL seasons, the 2022 first-round pick had played two snaps this season before Sunday.

LaBryan Ray (James Clemens) started at defensive end for the Panthers. Ray threw two interceptions.

Bryce Young started at quarterback for the Panthers. Young completed 15 of 25 passes for 126 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and rushed twice for 30 yards. Young scored the first points of the game with a 5-yard pass from Ja’Tavion Sanders with 7:48 left in the first quarter.
