Jewish Food and Culture Festival Held on November 3

• The 24th annual Jewish Food and Culture Festival will be held Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, 555 Warwick Drive, Wyomissing. What’s available: Jewish apple crumble and additional desserts, expanded menu including brisket and chicken platters, corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, bagel and lox platters, hot dogs, knishes and matzo ball soup. Tongue and kugel (noodle pudding) are on the menu again this year. Guests can dine in the festival food courts or take their food to go. There is no entrance fee. Order in advance ohebsholom.org or pay at the entrance. Cash is accepted but credit cards are preferred. Cultural rooms offer children and adults the chance to learn about Jewish religion and culture through traditional items. Volunteers will answer questions. Tour the sanctuary with Rabbi Brian Michelson, learn about the traditions of Judaism, and hear the blowing of the Shofar. Cantor Stuart Binder will perform traditional and contemporary Jewish music in the sanctuary.

• Sunday is the culmination of the 250th anniversary celebration of Zion Spies Lutheran Church, 310 Spies Church Road, Alsace County. A private service will be held with Bishop Chris DeForest of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA, followed by a luncheon.

• Exeter Township, 3670 Perkiomen Ave. Reformation Lutheran Church at will wrap up its year-long 75th anniversary celebration with hybrid worship at 9:30 a.m. on Reformation Sunday. The Rev. Dr. Paul, who was pastor at Reformation from 1993 to 2005 and is retired assistant to the Bishop of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA. D. Michael Bennethum will be the guest preacher. • One United Church of Christ, 1730 New Holland Road, Kenhorst, will hold its annual market next Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market will feature a variety of vendors, a gift basket raffle, homemade treats, church-made apple dumplings, cookies and shortbread. Candies made by the church were put up for sale.

• Trinity United Church of Christ, 2449 Cumberland Ave., Mount Penn, will hold its fifth annual Stop and Shop event on Sunday, Friday and next Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, vendors, raffle baskets and food sales. available for purchase.

• Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will host Coffee and Conversation at the Welcome Center on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

•St. John’s Gernant’s Church (United Congregation), 13 Gernant’s Church Road, Ontelanuee Township, where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hall. There will be Jingle Sunday where loose funds will be collected to be used in the mission program to help people in need.

•St. John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will offer prayers day and night Wednesday: Pray, Fast, Vote. The church grounds will be open for individual prayer in the afternoon, and a mass prayer service focusing on the upcoming election will begin at 7 p.m. There will also be a fundraiser held in the church fellowship hall next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. . Dozens of baskets and larger prizes will be available for the raffle, as well as food and baked goods. • Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Center Ave., Reading, welcomes the Rev. Steve Ohnsman back Sunday at 8 and 10:30 a.m. The Monthly Faith Forum will be held at 9 p.m.

• Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 170 Tuckerton Road, Muhlenberg Township, will carry a trunk or treat in the parking lot today from 6 to 8 p.m. Cindy Miller Aungst will accompany the choir on drums at the worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

• The Rev. Jeanean Speck returns to Salem Lutheran Church, 8410 Lancaster Ave., Bethel Township, for the 9:30 a.m. worship service. After the service, there will be social time in the multi-purpose hall.
