A Democratic strategist blamed Kamala Harris’ election defeat on her failure to differentiate herself from President Biden.

While pundits and analysts point to numerous reasons for the Democrats’ electoral failure, James Carville narrowed it down to a single moment.

Speaking to Tim Miller on ‘The Bulwark Podcast’, James Carville said it was because Harris couldn’t answer a simple question while appearing on The View.

Host Sunny Hostin asked her if she would do anything differently than Biden, and Harris said nothing came to mind.

carville He said: ‘It’s a matter of money. This is the question everyone wants to know the answer to. And you freeze. You literally freeze and say, ‘Well, I can’t think of anything.’

He added: ‘The country wants something different. And as is often the case with a friendly audience on ‘The View,’ he was asked: ‘How would you be different from Biden?’ That’s the only question you exist to answer, okay? This is it.”

He has since expressed disappointment in Americans following Trump’s “s***,” saying the outcome was depressing.

Carville said: ‘So I need to re-evaluate. I’m sure I’ll find something to make me feel good again but it’s hard today, I’ll be honest with you.

‘The hardest part is when I look at this country and see tens of millions of people falling into this nonsense, it’s very demoralizing.’

He was also asked what the specific difference was between Harris’ presidency and Biden’s presidency.

Trump insulted Harris for her remarks on The View, saying: ‘She said nothing came to mind. I think the other person who asked the question is more stupid than Kamala.

“She didn’t know what to say,” Trump said of Harris’ response. ‘But come to think of it, it was a softball question.’

Trump said Harris should have brought up the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7 or any other issue.

‘How about the fact that the United States of America is a laughing stock all over the world? ‘How about he fails in his witch hunt?’ Trump said.

While Harris focused much of her initial message on themes of joy, Trump channeled a strong sense of anger and resentment among voters.

He discussed frustrations over high prices and fears about crime and immigrants entering the country illegally under Biden’s watch.

He also noted the wars in the Middle East and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to preside over and encourage Democrats to preside over a world in chaos.

It was a formula that Trump perfected in 2016, when he saw himself as the only person who could solve the country’s problems and often borrowed the language of dictators.

Trump’s victory over Harris, the first black woman in a major party, marks the second time he has defeated a female opponent in the general election.

Harris rose to the top of the list after Biden left the race due to concerns about his advancing age.

Despite an initial surge of energy around his campaign, he struggled on a tight timeline to convince frustrated voters that he represented a break from an unpopular administration.
