One person has died following a road accident in Co Sligo.

The man, aged in his 20s, died following the incident in Tubbercurry, Drimina, in the early hours of Saturday.

Only one car was involved in the accident, which occurred at around 03.45 on the R294.

A Garda spokesman said the local coroner had been informed and arrangements would be made for a post-mortem examination.

“Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to come forward,” they said.

“All road users who have camera footage (including dashcam) and were traveling in the area between 2am and 4am are asked to make this footage available to investigators.
