    Physician and anthropologist Guido Lombardi, an expert on Peruvian mummies and author of The Handbook of Mummy Studies (2021), called Jaime Maussan’s latest presentation “part of an elaborate disinformation project.”

There is evidence that real mummies have been manipulated to create alien-looking figures, leading treasure hunters to search for more bones to create new mummies for sale.

    It has been documented that a pre-Hispanic adult-sized mummy had two fingers cut off from its hands and feet to simulate a three-fingered structure, and additional phalanges were added to lengthen the limbs. These changes aim to distort Peru’s cultural heritage, giving the ruins a non-human appearance.

    Despite these findings, Congressman Tacuri remains unconvinced about the reality of the mummies. “The extraterrestrial mummies of Nazca are real,” he said. When asked about the scientific evidence that refutes the reality of mummies, Tacuri said: “You are asking the wrong questions; it is not about believing or not believing in the authenticity of mummies; it is about having the preparation, knowledge and wisdom to realize the reality of mummies.” If they aren’t real, why would a person or group of people go to the trouble of creating them in such detail?
