Police say a Chicago Fire Department truck lost a tire and damaged a parked vehicle on North Northwest Highway in Jefferson Park

CHICAGO (Wales) — A Chicago Fire Department truck lost a tire on the city’s Northwest Side Saturday afternoon, causing it to crash into two other vehicles.

Chicago police said the incident happened around 12:15 a.m. in the 5200 block of North Northwest Highway in Jefferson Park.

Police said one of the CFD truck’s right rear tires shattered and was thrown from the truck.

CPD said the tire struck a parked hatchback vehicle on the street, then struck a moving vehicle.

Police said no one was injured in the crash and no explanation was given.

Pat Cleary of CFD Firefighters Association Local 2 told ABC7 the department is dealing with equipment issues and is frustrated with city leaders.
