Born in Salem on November 13, 1958, Indra Soundar Rajan wrote 700 short stories, some 340 novels and directed 105 TV series. He wrote the script for the 2007 period drama film ‘Sringaram’, which won three awards at the 53rd National Film Awards and two awards at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.

Some of his famous television serials include “Ragasiyam”, “Sivamayam”, “Puguntha Veedu”, “Marmadesam”, “Maayavettai” and “Kottai Purathu Veedu”. Some of these like “Krishnadasi” and “Kaal Bhairav ​​- Ek Naya Rahasya” were adapted into Hindi and aired on popular channels like Colors and Star Bharat. According to another report, no Tamil TV serial has ever broken the record of “Marma Desam”, a five-episode anthology.

Tamil news portals said that Indra Soundar Rajan slipped and fell in the bathroom of her house in TVS Nagar Madurai, which eventually led to her death. They added that he was a cancer patient and was undergoing treatment.

After becoming a writer, Soundar Rajan added his mother’s name as a prefix. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked for TVS Group of Companies.
