SALT LAKE CITY — A man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in the Ballpark neighborhood Friday evening. The driver remains at the scene to cooperate with the investigation.

At 7:45 p.m., authorities received reports of a crash on State Street near 1110 South; Preliminary investigation revealed that a 62-year-old woman was traveling southbound when she struck the 22-year-old man while crossing the street.

The injured with life-threatening conditions were taken to hospital.

Southbound traffic will be diverted to Main Street at Herbert Boulevard, with the detour expected to remain in place for several hours.
