Charlecote Park’s knitted pumpkin display returns for a second year

More than 400 handcrafted items of knitted pumpkins and seasonal vegetables are on display at Charlecote Park for the second year in a row.

The National Trust site in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, is phasing out edible gourds and pumpkins over the Halloween period to help reduce food waste.

The sustainable vegetable crop was knitted, felted and crocheted by dozens of people, including staff and volunteers.

A National Trust spokesman added that visitors could also take home their own handcrafted pumpkins for donation, which could help preserve the site.

Hand-knitted pumpkins can be seen around the National Trust estate, including the Victorian kitchen and historic library.

The autumn exhibition at Charlecote Park is open daily from 10:30am to 4:30pm until November 3rd.
