(ABC 6 News) — Homestead Church held its second annual hot pot cookout Saturday to raise money ahead of Veterans Day.

13 dishes competed and those who attended the event voted for their favorite dish and the top three took home their prizes.

All $300 raised went to Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota.

The church’s pastor said giving back is critical to the church’s mission.

“How can we partner with something that will truly provide immediate benefit to society? and an instant winner helping disabled veterans,” said Pastor Aaron Justice.

The fundraiser will be repeated next year and the church hopes to raise even more money to give back to the community.
